A very interesting game took place in Braunschweig. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 12th ranked Science City Jena (7-9) to thirteenth ranked Braunschweig (7-10) 69-68 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Science City Jena. They outrebounded Science City Jena 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Lars Lagerpusch (207-98) nailed 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and American power forward Scott Eatherton (203-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) came up with 19 points and 7 assists and the other American import forward Derrick Allen (201-80, college: Mississippi) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Science City Jena in the defeat. Four Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Braunschweig maintains thirteenth place with 7-10 record. Science City Jena at the other side keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. Braunschweig's next round opponent will be higher ranked EWE Baskets (#8) in Oldenburg and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
