Townsville upset Sydney on the road and swept the semifinal series. Townsville Fire forced 20 Sydney Uni Flames turnovers. Strangely Sydney Uni Flames outrebounded Townsville Fire 47-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-80) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Cayla George (192-89) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American center Jennifer Hamson (201-92, college: BYU, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Sydney Uni Flames.
