Regular Season Round 13: Keflavik - Thor AK 98-100

A very close game took place in Keflavik between Thor AK and Keflavik. Eleventh ranked Thor AK (3-10) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Keflavik (7-6). Thor AK managed to escape with a 2-point win 100-98 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 23-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Thor AK shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Ingvi Ingvarsson (187-94) fired 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Hilmar Henningsson (194-0) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Dominique Elliott (203-91, college: Md-E Shore, agency: David Lee Services) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Thor AK maintains eleventh place with 3-10 record. Loser Keflavik keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Grindavik. Thor AK will meet at home higher ranked Tindastoll (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Keflavik will play against Grindavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
