Regular Season Round 14: Novy Jicin - BCM Orli 77-76

The most exciting game of round 14 in the 1Liga took place in Novy Jicin. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked BK Prostejov B (7-7) to sixth ranked Novy Jicin (8-6) 77-76 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BK Prostejov B. They outrebounded BK Prostejov B 55-39 including 23 on the offensive glass. Center Tadeas Janik (201-94) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Zdenek Jakubu (184-97) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Swingman Frantisek Vana (192-98) responded with 17 points and guard Jan Hlobil (190) scored 7 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Novy Jicin moved-up to second place in East, which they share with Zlin. BK Prostejov B at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Ostrava and Opava B. Novy Jicin is looking forward to face league's second-placed SKB Zlin on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BK Prostejov B will play against Sokol Slapanice and is hoping to win this game.
