Regular Season Round 10: Panionios - PAOK 65-62

Eighth-ranked PAOK (4-6) was very close to win a game against third ranked Panionios (9-1) in Athens on Sunday. Panionios managed to secure only three-point victory 65-62. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 22-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Panionios forced 21 PAOK turnovers and outrebounded them 43-28 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Katie Healy (185-94, college: St.Bonaventure) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Canadian-Jamaican center Jose-Ann Johnson (193-93, college: Duquesne) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Keani Albanez (178-93, college: Gonzaga) replied with 24 points and 6 rebounds and American-Bahrain forward Brittany Lewis (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for PAOK. PAOK's coach Vassilis Maslarinos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Panionios moved-up to second place, which they share with Faros Keratsiniou. PAOK lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Niki Lefkadas. Panionios is looking forward to face league's second-placed Faros Keratsiniou in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. PAOK will play against Athinaikos (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
