The game in Singapore was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (3-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (4-5). Alab Pilipinas managed to secure a 9-point victory 89-80 on Sunday. Alab Pilipinas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina, agency: Aspire Sports) who scored 26 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Christien Charles (216-81, college: Villanova) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alab Pilipinas have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Alab Pilipinas went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Singapore Slingers dropped to the third place with five games lost. Alab Pilipinas will meet league's second-placed Mono Vampire in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Singapore Slingers will play against CLS Knights in Surabaya and hope to secure a win.
