Premier League top team - Al-Manama (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they beat seventh ranked Al-Ittihad (10-8) 96-78. Al-Manama dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Al-Ittihad's 40. They outrebounded Al-Ittihad 46-27 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al-Manama looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Al-Ittihad's players. It was a quality performance for American Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward Hassan Nawrooz accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Al-Manama's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Antwan Wilkerson (201-91, college: Johnson C. Smith) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds and Ali Ghadeer added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for Al-Ittihad in the defeat. Four Al-Ittihad players scored in double figures. Al-Manama have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-1 record. Loser Al-Ittihad dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Al-Manama will meet at home Sitra (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Ittihad will play against the league's second-placed Al-Ahli in Manama and hope to secure a win.
