Regular Season Round 13: Flamengo - Mogi 77-71

NBB round 13 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Mogi (10-3) against sixth ranked Flamengo (9-2) 77-71 was the most important game of the last round. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Joao-Paulo Batista (205-81, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Dominican-American guard Ronald Ramon (183-86, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Flamengo's coach Jose Neto used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Caio Silveira (211-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Mogi. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Flamengo have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Mogi at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Franca who have the same record. Mogi will play next round against Liga Sorocaba trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Flamengo will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Botafogo F.R.. It will be extra interesting game as Botafogo F.R. is their local rival from Rio de Janeiro.
