A very close game took place in Taiyuan between Brave Dragons and Sturgeons. Fifteenth ranked Brave Dragons (10-16) got a very close home victory over 14th ranked Sturgeons (11-15). Brave Dragons managed to escape with a 1-point win 113-112 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sturgeons. Brave Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. Four Brave Dragons players scored in double figures. International forward LinJian Chen (198-93) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brave Dragons maintains fifteenth position with 10-16 record. Loser Sturgeons keep the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Brave Dragons will meet at home higher ranked Golden Bulls (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sturgeons will play against Fly Dragons (#10) and hope to secure a win.
