Regular Season Round 9: Rapla - Jurmala 89-91

Important game to mention about took place in Rapla. Leader Latvian Jurmala (6-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Estonian Rapla (3-4) 91-89 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rapla. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 29-22. But Rapla won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jurmala shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. It was a good game for forward Denis Krestinin (202-94, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Edgars Jeromanovs (186-86) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Jurmala's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Devonte Upson (206-93, college: SE Louisiana) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Nolan Cressler (195-94, college: Vanderbilt, agency: 3Eye) added 22 points and 5 assists in the effort for Rapla. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Jurmala have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Rapla at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Parnu. Jurmala will play against Betsafe (#5) in Liepaja in the next round. Rapla will play at home against Betsafe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
