There was a surprise result in Ankara where twelfth ranked Orman Genclik (8-10) beat higher ranked Karesi Spor (10-8) 85-79 on Friday. Orman Genclik looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Karesi Spor was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Caner Ercan (205-86) chipped in 27 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Alican Guney (194-89, agency: 1x1 Sports) with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Karesi Spor's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Orman Genclik moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Karesi Spor at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Orman Genclik will face Akhisar Bld (#12) on the road in the next round.
