Regular Season Round 15: USK Praha B - GBA Sparta 53-61

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Praha: GBA Sparta (#7) and USK Praha B (#5). USK Praha B was defeated at home 53-61 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of USK Praha B. GBA Sparta forced 23 USK Praha B turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by USK Praha B helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for guard Marek Welsch (180-99) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Slovakian center Maros Zeliznak (208-99) accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Patrick Samoura (194-0) came up with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Marek Vyroubal (195-1) added 12 points respectively for USK Praha B in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for GBA Sparta. They moved-up to sixth place in West, which they share with Loko Plzen. USK Praha B at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. GBA Sparta's next round opponent will be Sokol Pisek (#8) on the road. USK Praha B's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Praha Sokol Zizkov.
