Regular Season Round 15: Flames - Lions 66-69

The most exciting game of round 15 in the 2.Bundesliga took place in Vienna. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked Flames (6-9) to fifth ranked Lions (10-5) 69-66 on Saturday evening. Lions outrebounded Flames 41-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Luka Brajkovic (206-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Spanish guard Ander Arruti (190-90) helped adding 19 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Dominik Alturban (190-85) with 18 points and 4 assists and point guard Tobias Stadelmann (180-88) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Lions have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Mustangs. Flames lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Lions is looking forward to face Mustangs (#3) in Mistelbach in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Flames will play on the road against KOS (#8) in Klagenfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
