Regular Season Round 19: JAC Sants - Mataro Feimat 73-57

There was a surprise result in Barcelona where fourteenth ranked JAC Sants (3-10) defeated higher ranked Mataro Feimat (6-7) 73-57 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by JAC Sants. Mataro Feimat was better in second period 18-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JAC Sants dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Mataro Feimat's 16. They outrebounded Mataro Feimat 52-28 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Sergi Marco (194-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. Javier Balastegui (187-97) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Dominican power forward Jose Cabrera (206-84) responded with 6 points and 9 rebounds and David Romero (-90) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. JAC Sants moved-up to twelfth place in Group C-B, which they share with Cerdanyola. Mataro Feimat lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. JAC Sants will face higher ranked Palma II (#4) in S'Arenal in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
