Regular Season Round 19: Cantaires Tortosa - Castelldefels 83-96

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Castelldefels (5-8) defeated on the road 10th ranked Cantaires Tortosa (5-8) 96-83 on Sunday. Castelldefels dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Cantaires Tortosa's 32. It was a great evening for Andreu Sese who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Jaume Torres (187-83) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Castelldefels players scored in double figures. At the losing side Kiliam Riverol responded with 23 points and American forward Sean McDonnell (203, college: Westmont) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Cantaires Tortosa's coach Jaume Bouguarout rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Castelldefels moved-up to tenth place in Group C-A, which they share with defeated Cantaires Tortosa. Castelldefels will face league's leader Girona Basquet on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cantaires Tortosa will play against the league's second-placed Vive El Masnou (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
