Regular Season Round 15: Zlin - Novy Jicin 88-96

Another exciting game was between third ranked Novy Jicin and second-best SKB Zlin where Novy Jicin (9-6) beat SKB Zlin (8-7) on the road 96-88. It was a key game for the second position in East. Novy Jicin made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. SKB Zlin was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Zdenek Jakubu (184-97) who led his team to a victory with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Rostislav Pelikan (209-78) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners. Point guard Michal Ihring (184-90) answered with 21 points and David Nehoda (193-91) added 17 points and 4 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for SKB Zlin. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Novy Jicin moved-up to second place in East. SKB Zlin lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with BCM Orli. Novy Jicin will play against Olomouc Bbal (#5) at home in the next round. SKB Zlin will play against Sokol Slapanice in Slapnice and hopes to get back on the winning track.
