Regular Season Round 21: Al-Najma - Al-Manama 56-101

Leader Al-Manama delivered the eighteenth victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Al-Najma (11-8) 101-56. Al-Manama dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Al-Najma's 28. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Al-Najma's players. Al-Manama brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Mohammed Ameer contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Al-Manama players scored in double figures. Al-Manama's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and forward Abbas Jawadi (178-90) added 15 points in the effort for Al-Najma. Al-Manama (18-1) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Al-Najma at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Al-Manama will play against Al-Hala (#5) in Muharraq in the next round. Al-Najma will have a break next round.
