Seventeenth-ranked Jilin Tigers (7-21) gave a tough game to fifteenth ranked Brave Dragons (12-16) in Changchun on Thursday. The visitors from Taiyuan managed to secure only one-point victory 130-129. However their fans expected easier game. Brave Dragons made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) fired 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 assists. Brave Dragons' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) produced 52 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Carl Landry (206-83, college: Purdue) added 29 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Five Brave Dragons and four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Brave Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Fujian S. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. Brave Dragons will meet league's second-placed Flying Leopards in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jilin Tigers will play against Fly Dragons (#12) and hope to secure a win.
