Regular Season Round 20: Andujar - Marbella 73-77

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Andujar (1-12) was defeated at home by second ranked Marbella (10-4) 77-73 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-20. But Andujar won second period 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (207-76, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Lucas Hausman (190-93, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Eugenio Martinez (182) produced 26 points and center Antonio Garcia (202-86) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Andujar's coach Nacho Criado rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Marbella have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Marbella maintains second position in Group D-A with 10-4 record having just two points less than leader Vic. Andujar lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Marbella will face Almeria (#6) at home in the next round. Andujar will play against Medacbasket (#3) in Malaga and hope to win that game.
