Regular Season Round 15: Poitiers - Nancy 73-83

Very expected game when 15th ranked Poitiers (4-11) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Sluc Nancy (10-5) 83-73 on Saturday. Sluc Nancy outrebounded Poitiers 34-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Sluc Nancy especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: Grand Canyon) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Canadian-Jamaican swingman Jevohn Shepherd (196-86, college: Michigan) helped adding 16 points. Sluc Nancy's coach Gregor Beugnot used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Kevin Harley (192-94) with 22 points and 6 assists and American-Dominican guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 21 points. Sluc Nancy moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Saint-Chamond. Poitiers lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Sluc Nancy will face higher ranked ADA Blois (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Poitiers will play against Nantes (#11) and hope to win that game.
