There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Latina Basket (8-9) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked NPC Rieti (8-9) 87-76 on Sunday. NPC Rieti outrebounded Latina Basket 37-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Latina Basket was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Nigerian guard Zaid Hearst (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international power forward Angelo Gigli (209-83) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four NPC Rieti players scored in double figures. American swingman Benjamin Raymond (198-87, college: Xavier) responded with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Josh Hairston (203-92, college: Duke, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. NPC Rieti moved-up to tenth place in A2. NPC Rieti will face league's second-placed Eurotrend Biella on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
