Fifteenth-ranked Brave Dragons (12-17) made lots of trouble for second ranked Flying Leopards (22-7) in Yingkou on Sunday. Flying Leopards managed to secure only one-point victory 106-105. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Brave Dragons. Flying Leopards made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Brave Dragons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international Ailun Guo (192-93) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: Dutt Sports Services) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and international guard LingXu Zeng (193-87) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Brave Dragons' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Flying Leopards have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 22-7 record behind leader Guangsha L. Brave Dragons at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Fujian S.. Flying Leopards are looking forward to face Fly Dragons (#12) in Beijing in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brave Dragons will play at home against Leopards and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
