Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Eagles (8-22) lost to fifth ranked Guandong Tigers (21-9) in Dongguan 104-119. Guandong Tigers made 25-of-31 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Eagles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists. International power forward JunFei Ren (203-90) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) added 22 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Eagles' coach tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guandong Tigers moved-up to third place, which they share with Shandong GS and Jiangsu D. Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 22 games lost. Guandong Tigers' next round opponent will be Gold Lions (#19) in Tianjin which should be an easy win for them. Eagles will play at home against Blue Whales and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
