Regular Season Round 17: Opava B - Pardubice 88-95

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked B&W Opava B (7-10) lost at home to ninth ranked Pardubice (7-9) 95-88 on Wednesday. Pardubice forced 24 B&W Opava B turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Josef Potocek (196-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. International point guard Viktor Pulpan (191-96) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Pardubice's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Rostislav Dragoun (190-96) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and center Miroslav Kvapil (202-93) added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for B&W Opava B. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pardubice moved-up to seventh place in East. B&W Opava B lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Pardubice will face higher ranked BK Prostejov B (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. B&W Opava B will play against the league's leader Kralovsti sokoli (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
