Regular Season Round 8: Mono Vampire - Formosa D. 93-85

Very predictable result in Bangkok where second ranked Thailand Mono Vampire (9-4) defeated bottom-ranked Taiwanese Formosa D. (1-9) 93-85 on Wednesday. Mono Vampire made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Maltese center Samuel Deguara (223-91) who added 19 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Mono Vampire players scored in double figures. American Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds and Salvadorean-American center Ronnie Aguilar (216-87, college: CS Dominguez H.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mono Vampire have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Thailand champion maintains second position with 9-4 record having just three point less than leader Hong Kong ELL. Formosa D. lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Mono Vampire will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Formosa D. will play at home against CLS Knights (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
