Important game to mention about took place in Keflavik. Fourth ranked Haukar (11-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Keflavik (7-8) 73-70 on Friday evening. They outrebounded Keflavik 45-31 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Paul Jones (198-89, college: W.Washington) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Emil Barja (192-91) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Haukar players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) with 28 points and 6 assists and American power forward Dominique Elliott (203-91, college: Md-E Shore, agency: David Lee Services) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Haukar moved-up to second place, which they share with KR and Tindastoll. Keflavik lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Stjarnan. Haukar will play against Tindastoll (#4) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round. Keflavik will play on the road against Thor Thorl in Thorlakshofn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
