Very predictable result in Valdarno where second ranked RR Retail Galli (14-2) outscored 15th ranked Alghero (1-15) 98-63 on Saturday. RR Retail Galli dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Alghero's 28. RR Retail Galli forced 35 Alghero turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for RR Retail Galli especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was guard Maria-Chiara Ortolani (178-97) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Federica Iannucci (172-93) chipped in 29 points. Bulgarian guard Veronika Djikova (179-90) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sara Azzellini (170-86) added 15 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted RR Retail Galli maintains second place in A2 with 14-2 record having just three points less than leader Sesto SG. Loser Alghero keeps the fifteenth position with 15 games lost.
