Regular Season Round 15: Electrico FC - Illiabum 76-80

There was no surprise in Ponte de Sor where 11th ranked Electrico FC (3-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Illiabum (9-8) 80-76. Illiabum brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jeff Early (190-88, college: S.Illinois) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Illiabum players scored in double figures. American point guard Darius Jones-Gibson (185-94, college: Samford) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import center Jamal Hunter (203-93, college: Jacksonville St.) added 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for Electrico FC in the defeat. Illiabum moved-up to fifth place. Electrico FC lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Illiabum's next round opponent will be Barreirense (#11) in Barreiro which should be theoretically an easy game. Electrico FC will play on the road against Vitoria SC in Guimaraes and hope to win that game.
