Fifteenth-ranked BG Goettingen (4-13) gave a tough game to fourth ranked BBC Bayreuth (14-5). BBC Bayreuth managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. BBC Bayreuth made 21-of-22 charity shots (95.5 percent) during the game. BG Goettingen was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 4 assists. The former international center Andreas Seiferth (209-89) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. BBC Bayreuth's coach Raoul Korner allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) came up with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and the other American import point guard Brion Rush (191-84, college: Grambling St., agency: 3Eye) added 23 points and 6 assists respectively for BG Goettingen in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for BBC Bayreuth. They moved-up to third place. BG Goettingen lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. BBC Bayreuth will play against league's leader Bayern Muenchen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BG Goettingen will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
