Regular Season Round 21: Pielagos - La Fecha 71-77

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked La Fecha (7-11) defeated 4th placed Pielagos (12-6) in Renedo de Pielagos 77-71 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 21-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for guard Millan Lopez (185-94) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Forward Arturo Sarmiento (193-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 12 points for the winners. La Fecha's coach Roberto Gonzalez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Ron Lee (188, college: Cent.Methodist) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian forward Pape Seck (208, college: Simon Fraser) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Pielagos. Four Pielagos players scored in double figures. La Fecha maintains tenth place in Group A-A with 7-11 record. Loser Pielagos keeps the fourth position with six games lost. La Fecha will face Mondragon (#14) at home in the next round. Pielagos will play against BIOK2.COM OKE (#12) in Ordizia and hope to win that game.
