Regular Season Round 15: Malbas - Djurgarden 76-83 OT

Eighth-ranked Malbas (4-11) made lots of trouble for second ranked Djurgarden (15-3) in Malmo on Sunday. The visitors from Stockholm managed to secure only seven-point victory 83-76. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime then Malbas managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Djurgarden who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-2. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Djurgarden forced 24 Malbas turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Andre Benediktsson (196-95) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Brandon Barton (192-88) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four Djurgarden players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Gustav Claesson (197-97) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and guard Kasper Hagberg (185-98) added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Djurgarden keeps a position of league leader. Malbas at the other side keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Djurgarden will face bottom-ranked LF Future (#10) in Lulea in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Malbas will play on the road against Hogsbo in Goteborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
