Regular Season Round 12: Tartu Ulikool - Barsy Atyrau 85-55

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Estonian Tartu Ulikool (8-3) smashed at home 7th ranked Kazakhstan Barsy Atyrau (2-10) 85-55 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Tartu Ulikool. Barsy Atyrau managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Barsy Atyrau 48-23 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tartu Ulikool looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Barsy Atyrau's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian forward Julius Kazakauskas (196-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Kristjan Kitsing (205-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 21 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Tartu Ulikool players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard John Taylor (185-89, college: Fresno Pacific) with 20 points and swingman Pavel Ilin (196-92) scored 11 points. Barsy Atyrau's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Tartu Ulikool have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-3 record behind leader P.Zvaigzdes. Loser Barsy Atyrau keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. Tartu Ulikool will meet BK Ogre (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Barsy Atyrau will have a break next round.
