Regular Season Round 8: Marburg - ICIM Arad 87-79

An interesting game for German BC Pharmaserv Marburg (4-2) which hosted in Marburg 3rd ranked Romanian ICIM Arad (1-5). Second ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg managed to get a 8-point victory 87-79. BC Pharmaserv Marburg made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg outrebounded ICIM Arad 44-21 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by power forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Paige Bradley (175-94, college: Denver) supported her with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. BC Pharmaserv Marburg's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 24 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) by Hungarian-Romanian power forward Ildiko Mirne-Nagy (187-84) did not help to save the game for ICIM Arad. American guard Porsche Poole (172-89, college: Michigan St.) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Pharmaserv Marburg have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory BC Pharmaserv Marburg went down to sixth position (Group B) due to points difference. ICIM Arad lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with five games lost.
