Regular Season Round 9: Alab Pilipinas - Chongson 94-91

Important game to mention about took place in Manila. Fifth ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (7-4) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th placed Chinese Chongson (6-2) 94-91 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chongson. They outrebounded Chongson 56-42 including a 27-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Alab Pilipinas players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a good game for American-Puerto Rican forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 blocks. American-Filipino guard Bobby-Ray Parks (193-93, college: High School) contributed with 31 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American center Justin Howard (209-81, college: Mercer) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import guard Mikh McKinney (185-92, college: Sacramento St.) added 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Chongson. Four Chongson players scored in double figures. Alab Pilipinas have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Chongson at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Alab Pilipinas will play against league's second-placed Mono Vampire in Bangkok in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chongson will play at home against Formosa D. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
