An interesting game for Al-Manama (22-1) which played road game in Nuwaidrat against 4th placed Al-Nweidrat (16-8). First ranked Al-Manama managed to get a 6-point victory 68-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al-Nweidrat. Al-Manama forced 21 Al-Nweidrat turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. International forward Hassan Nawrooz contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Al-Manama players scored in double figures. Al-Manama's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists and Jawad Abdulla added 17 points and 8 assists in the effort for Al-Nweidrat. Al-Manama have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-1 record. Al-Nweidrat at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Al-Manama are looking forward to face league's second-placed Al-Ahli in Manama in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al-Nweidrat will have a break next round.
