Rather expected game in Valga where 19th ranked Valkas SI (2-7) was defeated by seventeenth ranked Limbazi (4-5) 92-82 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Limbazi. Valkas SI was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Limbazi dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Valkas SI's 30. Limbazi forced 24 Valkas SI turnovers. Strangely Valkas SI outrebounded Limbazi 49-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. Point guard Armands Osins (190-91) stepped up and scored 31 points and 6 assists for the winners and forward Rolands Brencs (198-86) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Elvis Sukteris (194-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Ralfs Freibergs (171-1) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Limbazi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Madona and DSN/SB. Newly promoted Valkas SI dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Limbazi will face Madona (#15) in the next round. Valkas SI will play against Riga/Ridzene (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
