There was a surprise result in Slapnice where eighth ranked Sokol Slapanice (8-10) won against higher ranked Novy Jicin (9-9) 87-77 on Friday. Sokol Slapanice made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Novy Jicin was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Roman Zachrla (200-87, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jan Rotrekl (196-85) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Zdenek Jakubu (184-97) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Rostislav Pelikan (209-78) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Novy Jicin players scored in double figures. Novy Jicin's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sokol Slapanice moved-up to seventh place in East, which they share with Ostrava. Novy Jicin lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost.
