No shocking result in a game in Keratsiniou where fourth ranked Promitheas (9-6) defeated 12th ranked G.Larissa-Faros (5-10) 89-81 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Promitheas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for international Christos Saloustros (201-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Nikolaos Gikas (186-91, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 11 points and 10 assists. Five Promitheas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Nontas Papantoniou (190-90) with 21 points and 6 assists and Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Promitheas maintains fourth place with 9-6 record, which they share with AEK. Newly promoted G.Larissa-Faros dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Aris. Promitheas will meet at home Panionios (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. G.Larissa-Faros will play against the league's leader Panathinaikos in Athens and hope to secure a win.
