Regular Season Round 17: Mustangs - Flames 91-67

No shocking result in a game in Mistelbach where third ranked Mustangs (13-5) smashed 9th ranked Flames (6-11) 91-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mustangs. Flames was better in third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mustangs dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Flames' 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Flames' players. The best player for the winners was Czech guard Michal Semerad (190-89) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Thomas Morwitzer (198-92) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Mustangs players scored in double figures. German forward Maximilan Huebner (196-91) produced 11 points and 8 rebounds and Bosnian-Slovenian center Fuad Memcic (209-82) added 6 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mustangs have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Timberwolves. Flames lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Mustangs will face KOS (#8) in Klagenfurt in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Flames' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vienna Basket 2K.
