Regular Season Round 21: Zaporizhye - Dnipro 64-90

Date: February 3, 2018
Leader Dnipro delivered the nineteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Zaporizhye (3-18) 90-64 in Zaporozhye. The game was mostly controlled by Dnipro. Zaporizhye managed to win third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dnipro shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The former international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners and international Olexandr Mishula (192-92) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was center Valeriy Anisimov (210-90, agency: AproK Sports Group) with 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Oleksii Shchepkin (191-89) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dnipro have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Zaporizhye at the other side stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Dnipro will meet at home Politekhnik (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Zaporizhye will play against Mykolaiv and hope to secure a win.
