There was no surprise when 16th ranked Volpino (2-18) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Rimini (9-11) 72-66 on Saturday. Volpino was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Edoardo Tiberti (205-97) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and guard Luca Toniato (187-98, agency: Interperformances) who added 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Swingman Francesco Gorreri (192-95) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Edoardo Caversazio (199-96) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Rimini moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Padova. Volpino lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Rimini will face higher ranked Faenza (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Volpino will play against Desio (#7) and hope to win that game.
