Regular Season Round 18: UCC Demons - UCD Marian 78-95

Super League top team - UCD Marian (13-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat sixth ranked UCC Demons (9-8) in Cork 95-78. UCD Marian players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by UCC Demons' players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American guard Mike Garrow (193-91, college: E.Connecticut) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 21 rebounds. The former international point guard Scott Kinevane (175-87) contributed with 6 points and 16 assists for the winners. UCD Marian's coach Yiannis Liapakis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Colin OReilly (200-84, college: Post) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Adrian OSullivan (180-93) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for UCC Demons. UCD Marian have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-3 record. UCC Demons at the other side keep the sixth place with eight games lost. UCD Marian's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Killester.
