There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Nardo (10-11) won against at home 8th ranked Porto S.Elpidio (11-10) 57-50 on Thursday. Nardo made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Alessandro Poti (192-91) who scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Romanian forward Alin-Giani Zaharie (198-94) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Simone Zanotti (208-92) who recorded 6 points and 11 rebounds and guard Stefano Cernivani (185-91) added 16 points and 4 steals respectively. Porto S.Elpidio's coach Massimiliano Domizioli tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Nardo moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Loser Porto S.Elpidio dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Nardo will face higher ranked Pescara (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
