Regular Season Round 37: Jiangsu D. - Shanxi BD 119-113

There was no surprise in Nanjing where 15th ranked Brave Dragons (15-22) were defeated by fifth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (26-11) 119-113 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Jiangsu Dragons made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Brave Dragons turnovers. American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!) and 6 assists for the winners and Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) chipped in 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Four Jiangsu Dragons players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) responded with 38 points (!!!), 9 assists and 5 steals and center PengFei Yan (207-93) scored 30 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Jiangsu Dragons. They maintain fifth place with 26-11 record. Loser Brave Dragons dropped to the thirteenth position with 22 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face Fly Dragons (#12) in Beijing in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brave Dragons will play on the road against Monkey Kings in Jiangsu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
