Regular Season Round 24: Yokohama BC - Shimane SM 83-70

Date: February 10, 2018
There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Yokohama BC (11-25) beat at home 6th ranked Shimane Magic (7-29) 83-70 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Yokohama BC made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and guard Mitsuda Jotaro (188-94) who added 12 points during the contest. Five Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Brazilian forward Kazuya Hatano (192-82) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama BC moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Shimane Magic lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with 29 games lost. Yokohama BC will face San-en NeoPhoenix (#4) in Hamamatsu in the next round. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
