Regular Season Round 9: Pirates - Stingers 75-76

The most exciting game of round 9 in the NPBA took place in Nassau. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Pirates (5-5) to second ranked Stingers (7-4) 76-75 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pirates. Stingers forced 23 Pirates turnovers. Strangely Pirates outrebounded Stingers 51-33 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Mark Hanna stepped up and scored 14 points and 7 assists for the winners and Henry Rolle chipped in 9 points and 7 assists. Four Stingers players scored in double figures. Stingers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American Dominique Fernander (, college: Hobart) with 24 points and 9 rebounds and Tevin Hudson scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Stingers maintains second place with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader Rockets. Pirates at the other side keep the third position with five games lost. Stingers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pirates' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nassau to the arena Rebels.
