Regular Season Round 20: Cholet - Strasbourg 63-73
Date: February 10, 2018
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Cholet Basket (9-11) was defeated at home by third ranked SIG Strasbourg (14-6) 73-63. The game was mostly controlled by SIG Strasbourg. Cholet Basket was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for SIG Strasbourg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Dee Bost (188-89, college: Mississippi St., agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four SIG Strasbourg players scored in double figures. American power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Ryan Evans (202-90, college: Wisconsin) added 17 points in the effort for Cholet Basket. Cholet Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SIG Strasbourg have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Le Mans and Monaco. Cholet Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. SIG Strasbourg's next round opponent will be JL Bourg (#5) at home. Cholet Basket will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
