We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 12th ranked Jena II (5-13) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Rosenheim (5-12) 97-90 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was French forward Evans Ganapamo (201-94, college: Prairie View A&M) who scored 23 points. American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) chipped in 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Rosenheim players scored in double figures. American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field) and Marco Rahn (201-98) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Jena II's coach Christopher Schreiber let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rosenheim moved-up to eleventh place in South-East. Loser Jena II keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Rosenheim will face higher ranked Treuchtlingen (#3) in Treutchlingen in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jena II will play at home against the league's leader Oberhaching (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
