Regular Season Round 21: Souffel - Challans 77-83

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Vendee Challans (12-9) defeated on the road 13th ranked Souffelweyersheim (8-13) 83-77 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. American guard Jordan Barham (193-94, college: Davidson) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Steven Ricard (200-90) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and Kenyan-American forward Joel Awich (201-93, college: Cal Poly - SLO) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vendee Challans. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Chartres. Loser Souffelweyersheim keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Vendee Challans will face La Charite (#7) at home in the next round. Souffelweyersheim will play against Saint-Quentin (#4) and hope to win that game.
