Date: February 11, 2018
The most important game in the last round took place in Massagno between third ranked Geneve Lions (17-3) and fourth ranked Massagno (12-8) on Sunday night. Geneve Lions were defeated by Massagno on the road 89-74. Massagno shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae (199-91, college: La-Monroe) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and naturalized Senegalese power forward Jules Aw (202-86) who added 18 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. The former international Marko Mladjan (205-93) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Marquis Addison (195-91, college: Missouri So., agency: XL Basketball Agency) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Massagno have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 12-8 record. Geneve Lions at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Lugano Tigers. Massagno are looking forward to face higher ranked Lugano Tigers (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Geneve Lions will play against Winterthur and are hoping to win this game.
